Absolutely Gutted when we found out Stu had passed away back in 2015, He was our service manager at Wardhill back in the 70s, & a good boss at that!! he loved playing Squash back then, I remember when he used to arrive at work Monday mornings his HQ Holden work Ute, It would look like its just come off the showroom floor, this was replaced by the Mazda B1600 which he treated in exactly the same manner, One of his "Biggest" hates was letting us apprentices drive his pride and joy, But there were the very rare occasions we were allowed to.. he would watch us take off nice and slow on Te Ngae Rd.. past International Harvesters & left onto Vaughan s rd, until we were out of sight AND then it was full on "Red-line" all the way! After work we would always have a beer in the workshop smoko room i think it was $2 a big bottle back then, Stu would ask did you thrash my truck today? of cause I would always deny it. we didn't know he was sick or when he became sick because, we all lost contact with one other as the years moved forward, The last time i spoke to Stu in person he was working at Lakeland's up View Rd.. He was a good man.. I knew his brother Graham who used to be in Caxton Paper mill, i also met one of his brothers who was a car salesman for WaikatoToyota up in Hamilton..
Condolences to Colleen & Family
