Colin DRAIN Obituary

(Retired NZ Police Officer) On Thursday, March 19, 2026, peacefully at Christchurch Hospital, aged 91 years. Dearly loved husband of the late Alma for 69 years, and loving father and father-in-law of Tracey and Andrew, Jason and Tina, and Quentin and Leti. Greatly loved Grandad of Holly, Sasha, Aidan, and Hannah. Dearly loved brother of Neiel, and Stan, and Owen (both deceased). A special thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff of Christchurch Hospital for their care of Colin. Messages may be addressed to: The family of the late Colin Drain, c/- PO Box 39001, Christchurch 8545. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hato Hone St John would be appreciated, and may be made online at stjohn.org.nz. The funeral service for Colin will be held at Wai-mana, 92 Kippenberger Avenue, Rangiora, on Saturday, March 28, at 10:30am, followed by burial at Kaiapoi Public Cemetery. Our sincere sympathy on your father's passing. We remember when your dad use to come up to Oxford to relieve our father when he was away and he bought his dog with him. It was a novelty for us and your dad always referred to the dog as Taddy whiskers. To this day we still do to so your dad is a lovely memory for us. Thoughts are with you. Pam and Ray Strong
