Elizabeth HEARD Obituary

On March 22, 2026, peacefully at Rose Court, Christchurch. Beloved wife of David, dearly loved mother and mother-in-law of Ian and Lee Muir, Linda and Simon Thomas, Kate Heard and Tim Heath, and the late Lisa Westlake, much loved Nana of Rochelle, and Solomon; Joshua, Rebecca, Emma, and Samantha: Bronte, Kahn, Khushboo; and their partners, loved Nana Liz of her 13 great-grandchildren. Messages to the Heard family, c/- PO Box 187, Lyttelton 8841. A service to celebrate Elizabeths' life and faith will be held in St Augustine's Anglican Church, 5 Cracroft Terrace, Cashmere, on Thursday, March 26 at 2.00pm, private thereafter.

Although I only met Elizabeth once, she made such an impression on me that I remember the occasion in great detail. She was kind, intelligent made me feel comfortable although it was our first meeting and kindly let David and I reminisce at length about our times in Diamond Harbour when we were holidaying there as boys.
Despite not holidaying with us she carefully managed to include herself into the conversation by enquiring into the events discussed and showing genuine interest in the replies.
That day, the day I met her, I will treasure for ever.
