So sad I can't be there to farewell this wonderful man who had such a positive impact on so many young lives and contributed so much to our wonderful sport of softball. Thanks Gavin (Mr Britt) for sharing your passion and for all the support you gave us to play the game, picking us up for training and then dropping us home. Always encouraging us to do our best. Was great to catch up with you in recent times.Sending love to Jean and all your family. Safe travels Gavin, Love Okkie

Uncle Gavin your beautiful carving of Maungatautari has brought much joy to the Wilson whanau, it is the first thing you see when you enter the house and it is regularly taken along to the marae to teach visiting school groups about the manunga. Kua hinga te totara i Te Waonui-a-Tane (the totara tree has fallen in Tane's great forest). Britt- Wilson Whanau.

I remember the day you approached me while I was playing softball for Hornby and asked me to join Burnside. I will be forever greatful for the friends I have made and the memories I will have forever.

I have often thought of Gavin over the years as I have many memories from the CMYC days. He encouraged me to join the model yacht club and to become the first female member. He was a great mentor. Thoughts are with the family
