BURNS, Alan James:
Service No. 444770, AC1, RNZAF, WWII
Of Waikanae, formerly of Houghton Bay & Otaki. Passed away peacefully at Charles Fleming Hospital on Wednesday, 17 August 2016, aged 90 years. Dearly loved husband for 66 years of the late Muriel, who passed away just a week earlier. Beloved father and father-in-law of Ann & the late John, Carol & Allan, and Kay & David. Much loved Grandad to Arran & Erin, Simon & Michelle; Richard, and Donna & André, and cherished Great Grandad to Jack, Kanin, Levi and Tau. Grateful thanks to all staff at Charles Fleming for their loving care of Alan and family. A celebration of Alan's life will be held at the Otaki Baptist Church, cnr Te Manuao Road and State Highway 1, Otaki on Wednesday, 24 August 2016, at 11am, thereafter private cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan's memory to the Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter, PO Box 593, Palmerston North 4440 would be appreciated and may be left at the service.
