Andrew COLLINS Obituary

Aged 76, passed away after a short illness in the presence of his partner Paritta and daughter Julie in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Andrew was a dearly loved father of Alan, Julie, James and Ch'lita and partner of Paritta. Beloved brother of Richard and David. He was also a loyal and respected friend to many people. Andrew, son of the late Jim and Margaret Collins, spent his early life in Milton before moving to Levin with his family as a child. Andrew studied at Victoria University of Wellington where he was awarded an LLB and BA (Hons). Andrew went on to join the intellectual property law firm AJ Park where he became a partner in 1977, and would go on to become Managing Partner for 15 years. Andrew retired from practicing law in 2008 in order to spend more time with family and moved to Thailand. Andrew lived his life to the fullest, travelling regularly between Thailand and New Zealand and around the world. He continued to enjoy playing golf, read widely, loved a lively discussion and showed no signs of slowing down. Andrew was always there for his family and friends and will be deeply missed. A service celebrating Andrew's life will be held at Boulcott's Heritage Farm Golf Club, Wellington, at 2.30pm, Tuesday, 2 December 2025.
