Barbara GRANT Obituary

On Sunday 24th August 2025 peacefully at Shona McFarlane Retirement Village, Lower Hutt. Loved wife of the late Derisley (Des), and daughter of the late Hilda & Eric Smith. Sister to the late Ian Smith. Much loved Aunt of Guy & Lindsey, Great-Aunt to Lucy and Alice. Heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Shona McFarlane Home and Hospital. A service for Barbara will be held in the Croft Centennial Chapel, 2 Osborne Place (off Queens Drive), Lower Hutt, on Thursday 4th September 2025 at 10.00am. Barbara will be interred with her beloved Des at Norsewood Cemetery on Friday 5th September 2025 at 1.00pm.

Dear Guy and Lyndsey,
While we have never met, we would like to convey our sympathy to you both, and thank you for all you have done for Barbara in recent times.
Our friendship started back in the Bank of New South Wales days, and our daughter was one of Barbara´s bridesmaids. Barbara and Des have been very much part of our and our children´s lives.
I write this to you now as we will not be attending her funeral.
