Brian BATTELL Obituary
BATTELL, Brian William:
Brian died peacefully at Liston Heights hospital in Taupo on October 19, 2021, a much loved partner of Ann Lee; father and father-in-law of Deborah and Derek, Susan and Ansgar and Peter and Tiffany; former husband of Jennette McCaw; and Pop to his nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Brian enjoyed nearly 89 years of family, friends, sport, music, business and community service. A generous man, he gave freely of his time and wisdom. He is now at peace after a recent decline in health. Heartfelt thanks to staff at BUPA Liston Heights and Taupo Hospital. Due to family arriving from overseas, a memorial service will be held at 4pm on 19 November at the Turangi RSA. Please let us know if you'd like to attend. Sincere condolences to Sue, Peter & Deborah & respective families, as well as Brian's extended family.
My memories of Brian with a fly fishing rod in his hand were full of wisdom imparted by him, positive attitude to life and always wanting to help people with good sound advice. Certainly a full life to celebrate on 17 November.
