Brian, was a well known local Upper Hutt boy, with so much knowledge and interest in our city. We attended Upper Hutt Primary school and Heretaunga College, 1950-1961, he was a great asset to the Reunion Committees. Not forgetting his passion he had for Trains. To his lovely wife Mary, my deepest Sympathy to you , you have been a wonderful support to Brian with his illness, may he rest is peace. Sending you my love,xx Glenda Larkin (Melbourne)

I remember Brian from his days behind the Spares counter at Tom Croft Motors.
But his legacy is undoubtedly his massive contribution for making Mahara, Upper Hutt's community archive the superb local history resource that it now is. Even much larger local authorities do not have an archive of this scale and quality.
