Please accept my sincere condolences for the loss of your beloved Chris. He was a wonderful and sweet man, whose kindness and positive attitude touched the lives of many of us all around the world. I met Chris in 2023 through work at the IAEA and I was immediately impressed with his warmth, friendliness, and sense of humor. He was genuine, super smart, humble, and funny. And he always had the coolest stories from his travels. He spoke fondly of his trips with his sons and all the adventures they had together. What a truly great guy he was! I have his smile in my memory and I will always remember him like this: happy and simply cool. Goodbye Chris. We will miss you. May God keep you safe with Him forever. Sincerely, Maria

My deepest condolences to Chris´s family for the profound loss of a wonderful son, father, brother, and father-in-law. I pray that God grants you comfort and strength during this difficult time.

Chris was an extraordinary man-warm, friendly, cheerful, and always respectful. I got to know Chris through his work for our office at the IAEA. We shared many laughs and a similar sense of humor, which made our time together truly enjoyable. I´m grateful he had the chance to visit my home country, Sweden, last year, where he went hiking in the north. He was impressed by the stunning landscape, though he later joked about being glad to escape the mosquitoes.

We stayed in regular contact, and I followed his health journey
closely. On the day Chris passed, I took an evening walk with my dog and witnessed an incredible sunset-it felt as though he was saying goodbye.

At the plaza of the Vienna International Centre, we have a memorial fountain honoring staff and non-staff who have served the IAEA and UN organizations. Chris will be deeply missed by many, and his legacy will live on through his sons and grandchildren.

Very sad to hear about Chris´s passing. He was a wonderful person - always friendly, professional, and kind. It was a pleasure to get to know him and work with him at the IAEA. I have great respect for him. Today, I remembered him happy, showing me a video of himself swimming with whales in the Tonga Islands. That joyful image is how I will remember him.

Chris was a wonderful friend and colleague to us at OSACO Group. He joined the team when we began in 2013 and was part of the foundation and fabric. He'll be deeply missed. We've had many adventures together around the globe in challenging environments. He was the Zen Master who could be trusted to say exactly what he was thinking and undertake tasks with humility, professionalism and when appropriate humor. We'll miss you.

We are all utterly devastated by the passing of our dear friend and colleague, Chris. The messages we've received from our international team this week have all said the same thing: Chris was the penultimate gentleman and a true professional.

Chris approached his work with profound empathy and understanding, especially when serving some of the most vulnerable people on the planet.

He set an outstanding example for us all, and his legacy of kindness and integrity will continue to inspire us.

We were incredibly lucky to have him as a vital part of the OSACO family.

On a personal note, Sean and I cherish the memory of our shared adventures and miss him dearly as a great friend.

Our thoughts are with Mike and Svenja, Mark and Lisa and whanau and all who loved him during this incredibly difficult time.

I was deeply shocked and saddened to hear of Chris´ sudden passing. Although we didn´t work directly together, I always looked forward to his visits to Vienna, he never missed the chance to stop by my office for a chat. Our conversations, always rich and far from work-related, are memories I will truly cherish. My heartfelt condolences go out to his family and loved ones.
Chris will be missed.

Chris worked with us as a consultant for more than seven years. He excelled as an investigator in many demanding assignments, always combining his professionalism with humanity. His humor, warmth, and unfailing friendliness became hallmarks of OIOS at its best, and his work set a standard for all of us.
