Daniel HARMSWORTH Obituary

On 1 January 2024 we lost our much-loved Daniel, wishing you were still here to share our lives, our love, laughter and having fun together. Dearly loved son of Peter and Patricia Harmsworth. Much loved brother of Simon Harmsworth. Deeply loved and respected partner of Zene Krige for the past four years. Special thanks to the St John Ambulance staff from Albany Auckland and the New Zealand Police. In lieu of flowers, we would like to ask you to consider donating to one of the following bird sanctuaries that were meaningful to Daniel. In Australia, Kaarakin Black Cockatoo Conservation Centre (you could look to directly donate or "adopt" a bird to support their amazing work). Balar was the cockatoo who bit a few of Daniel's shirt buttons off on our last visit;

Today (25/3/2024) I sighted a small red model sailing yacht named "Red Dwarf" with white sails bearing the name and image of "Daniel James Harmsworth".
This small model sailing yacht had obviously been crafted in loving tribute to Daniel. It was last sighted happily sailing solo on the Indian Ocean in location (31°37.562S 115°34.927E) approx 7.5NM south of Two Rocks and 4NM west of Eligington Reef. Rest in Peace Daniel.
I wish you fair winds and following seas.

Thank you Daniel for a wonderful day while cruising around NZ with husband Ric and our 2 granddaughters. We stopped at Wellington, you met us and spent the day with us including a memorable afternoon at Zealandia. A cherished memory. You are missed more than you will know.
