Dave was a great man and we spent lots of time on the bowling green, he helped me out when i first joined the club. He even gave me his old bowls bag to use. We talked about cricket and the days of playing with Bruce Murray at Wellington. I would love to get ion touch with one of his sons.

I am thankful I had the good fortune of knowing David Connell. I met him as a junior bowler and he was very supportive. Dave had heaps of tips and I thought.....this guy is very clever. Little did I know..... . Nah, Dave was very intelligent, very savvy when it came to sport in general. He was a great guy and even in recent times with his body failing him Dave would still drag himself down to the bowls club to see the boys. A clubman to the end.

Love to the Connell family who I have known seemingly forever. Marion and I
were school kids together in Lower Hutt, riding our bikes everywhere. Along came Dave, the proud dad watching his 4 boys at sport, then onto bowls
with Marion. He liked nothing more than taking Marion and I about when I visited
from Tauranga Well done Dave, a life well lived.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Dave. Dave and my late husband Eric (Tich) played lawn bowls together on many occasions. They were so pleased with their team winning meat packs at least couple times a week. Rest in peace Dave and you are now with your soul mate Marion.

Very sad to hear Dave has passed away. Have memories of him and Marion babysitting for my parents way back in the 50´s. They were such an attractive and loving couple, Dave was Prince Rainier to her Grace Kelly. Much aroha to their sons and families. Kay Andrew´s (Marion´s cousin)

So sad to hear of Dave's death. What a blessing for him. He has never been the same since Marion passed. Always seemed like a lost soul, and his failing health didn't help. I go way back meeting him and Marion as you all know through rugby. My sincere sympathy to you all. We know that Dave is in a better place. My thoughts are with all the family. Doreen
