David MATHER Obituary

Passed away on 24 December 2025, peacefully, with loved ones beside him. Beloved husband of Tess, father of Pia and Tim and stepfather of Adam and Matthew and their partners. Grandpa of Rocky, Jordyn and Thomas. Son of Peter and Jeanette Mather.
He will be sadly missed by his four sister's Jane, Annie, Jilly and Libby and their partners and all his wonderful nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He will be forever missed by his wife and family. A big gap has been left in our lives. In lieu of flowers a donation to Alzheimer's NZ or Wellington Ambulance would be greatly appreciated. Dave was cremated in a private ceremony. A Memorial Service for Dave will be held at the Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, 375 Adelaide Rd, Newtown, Wellington on Saturday 17th January 2026 at 2pm. Tess and family, Denis Clifford here. I was very sorry to hear of Dave´s death. This must be such a sad time for you all. I remember Dave as a very personable, interested friend and Tess you and him as a lovely couple. Life can be hard.

Your strength on the rugby field left a mark on me from the first ruck. Like being hit by a concrete block. A Product of your lifelong passion for the gym. That laugh, with a huge sense of fun. The professional association, you had someone in your network for every need for extra expertise. As a neighbour we shared fun and games on the back lawn and managed to design a fence so neither of us was facing the back. The crazy fun social outings of three musketeers, now one short. I miss you dear friend but celebrate a life of huge positivity and fun. Rest in peace.
