It was with sadness and shock when I heard of your Passing Dave. A college class mate, did our apprenterships together at the same time and place, worked for you a couple of times, played rugby together and socialised. A great person with a great sense of humour, awesome mechanical knowledge and skill. My condolences to Raewyn and family. Rest in Peace Dave. Bill and Marie Mason.

We remember our dad, Dave O´Leary, as a man of grit, grease, and gold. A proud mechanic who could fix just about anything with a spanner in his hand and a twinkle in his eye, he was the steady engine at the heart of our family. His humour-dark, dry, often a little dirty-was unmatched, and his kindness was stitched just as firmly into his character.

As a father, he was strong and steady, guiding us with love and laughter. As a grandad, he was simply the best-mischievous, gentle, and endlessly proud of his mokopuna. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, stubborn determination, and a generosity of spirit that we will carry with us always.

There will never be another quite like him.

Dear Raewyn,
Words seem so inadequate at a time like this.
We are so sorry that Dave has passed away. He was such a hard-working, witty kind 'upright' man who loved life; and was a very good & genuine friend. He called a spade a spade, and no messing around!
Our love and condolences to you and your family, and to Dave's brothers & sister.
Biggest hugs,
Maxine & Trevor

A TRIBUTE TO A VERY DEAR FRIEND

Dave, your infectious personality taught many of us, including me, how to live, laugh and love.
You gave so much of yourself to many, and not wanting anything in return.
I´m gonna miss you, your calls with the banter and it was an absolute pleasure working with you and for you in those years gone by.
Forever R.I.P. bud...

Dave O'Leary, a man who struggled to say no to anyone seeking help with their vehicular transportation - Dave has been and will always be missed. Thank you for the years of support you gave us.

So many great memories playing cricket with Dave over 20 years at Upper Hutt. Competitive, funny, generous, and always with a big heart.

Thanks, Dave.
