What a breath of fresh air you were to talk to Dorothy! I loved catching up with you whenever I picked Brett up from playing at your house, stopping off for a wine and chat. We caught up in later years again through Bowen, we always said we would get together more often as we got along so well, one of my many regrets. You were straight to the point and had a brilliant sense of humour, I loved that in this pc world we live in. Thanks for being my advocate and getting my artwork into Bowen, I still get people talking to me about it. I wish I had seen you more often. Duncan and Tui are a huge credit to you. Rest in peace and dance. Liz xxx

I was very saddened to find out about Dorothy's passing and would like to send my condolences to the Shaw family at this difficult time. I have many precious memories of Dorothy's warm and welcoming presence when hosting BBQs at Sunshine Ave (as well as Halloween parties at the Kapiti Caledonian Society of course!). Regrettably I am unable to attend the service in person but will be watching the online stream.

Rest in Peace Dorothy, you will be greatly missed.

I was so lucky to work with Dorothy at Bowen Hospital for 14 years on a wide range of professional projects for nursing. I felt Dorothy gave us a free hand - I say `us´ because she always understood that the people who would put the thing into practice needed to be involved in its development - and that meant what we produced was characterized by connection to reality, quality and creativity. A highlight when handing over a piece of work was to hear Dorothy say, "Excellent!" - yes, in that Scottish burr. Dorothy was naturally at the centre of Bowen Hospital through her management tenure, and I hope she enjoyed the retirement she had, as it is a great pity that she didn´t have longer. RIP dear Dorothy.

RIP Dorothy, so many memories of spending time with you guys. Caledonian Balls, Parties and BBQs at Sunshine Ave. You were such a dear friend to Chrissy and also a work colleague at the Wakefield Group of hospitals. Rest easy and I am sure you will be rearranging beds with Chrissy wherever you two are. I am sorry I cannot attend of Friday but Duncan, Tui and Danny will be in my thoughts on this sad day.
