1944 - 2024
Passed away unexpectedly on 15th February 2024 at Raumati Beach. Researcher, author, intellectually curious, open-hearted helper of everyone she met. Much loved mum to Marc and his partner Sarah, beloved Kiwi grandma to Ja Seng Aung Bangsar, cherished sister of Ann and sister-in-law to Doug, loved aunt to Sasha and her partner Raj, and great-aunt to Leela. Donations in lieu of flowers to Women's Refuge at www.womensrefuge.org.nz or Forest & Bird at www.forestandbird.org.nz would be appreciated. Messages to 'the Ellis family' may be placed in Ellen's tribute page at www.tributes.co.nz or posted c/- PO Box 723 Paraparaumu. Ellen's funeral service will be held in the Whenua Tapu Crematorium Chapel, 293 Airlie Road, Porirua on Monday 26th February 2024 at 11.00am.

I only found out about the passing of Ellen 2 weeks ago, being in the month of October.It upset very much to hear of her passing, such a wonderful caring woman.I hadnt actually seen or heard from her for quite a while, & wanted to visit her many times.I would just like to pass on my condolences to her family & friends.She will be sadly missed, i for one will really miss her.
