9 August 1943 – 25 October 2025
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, 25 October 2025, after a short illness. Dearly loved daughter of the late Audrey and John Lawson, and much loved sister of Carol Ennis. Cherished mum and mother-in-law of Carole and Peter Dunn (dec), David and Emma Rush, and Antony and Gina Rush. Adored grandmother of Aimee, Joshua, Olivia, Alexandra, Matthew, Daniel, Emma, Hanna, and Aidan. Treasured great-grandmother of Maya, Lia, Felicity, Solomon, Imogen, Otto and Juno, and Alexandra and many nieces and nephews. Gail will be deeply missed by all her family and friends. In accordance with her wishes, Gail has been cremated privately. Her ashes will rest with her beloved parents at Karori Cemetery.

Gail and I worked together at Wellington East Girls' College looking after their International Students. We had a lot of fun and the students all knew how much she really cared about them. I also watched her coach senior students who never quite met the grade. She work with them until the last day of the school year helping them get across the line and achieving more than they thought they ever could. Gail will occupy a special part in my heart.

I worked alongside Gail at WEGC. A Wonderful person and a great teacher. Rest in peace Gail.
