Tena Koutou Katoa whanau
Alyson, James and Kim my aroha and thoughts are with you.
When I heard our Cuzin had passed, what a shock. Started cooking some Kai last night to come down and pay my respects as I am only 2 hours down the track, but found out the celebration of Gary's life will take place in the future. My son and I were remembering the time we came to your whare in Greytown to celebrate Aunty Ruth and Uncle Frank's wedding Anniversary, many many moons ago, my moko was asking alot of questions last night about Cuzin Gary, so today we will be going through my photos and do whakapapa on our whanau.
A Totara has fallen a true Rangatira personally and professionally
There's a Maori whakatauki that says,
"Kua hinga he totara i te wao nui a Tane."
"A totara has fallen in the forest of Tane."
It's used in respect and honour of a mighty member of our whanau who has passed from this life to the next.
Arohanui whanau look forward to reconnecting to celebrate Cuzin Gary's Life.
