Gavin McLEAN Obituary
Aged 66, in Ayr, Queensland. Much loved husband and father of Nola, Paul and Flynn; loved brother and brother-in-law of Jill and Barry, Alec and Dinah, and loved uncle to all his nieces and nephews. Gavin was a passionate, dedicated and innovative teacher, a talented musician (and part-time DJ), with a great/whacky sense of humour. Known for his time in the Wellington music scene in the early 1980s with the band Circus Block 4, and in the early 90s in the Melbourne music scene. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A service for Gavin will be held in Ayr, Queensland, on Wednesday 19 November at 1.30pm NZ time. RIP Gav.

Gavin. An amazing man - inspirational. He was a mentor to me, early on. And I will forever be thankful of his guidance and friendship. Rest in peace, my friend.

Sad to see this. I recall fondly a songwriting course I did in the late '90s, led by Gavin. He had such passion for music. My thoughts are with Gavin's family at this time.
