Giuseppe VOLPICELLI Obituary

On the 28th November 2025, suddenly and peacefully at Wellington Hospital surrounded by his sister and family. Dearly loved and cherished oldest child of the late Raffaele and Carlotta. Loving brother and brother-in-law of Salve, Gina and Derek Owen. And a much loving uncle of his nieces, great-nieces, nephews and loved and respected by all his cousins. You will always be in our hearts Pepe. Rest In Peace forever with Mum and Dad. Requiem Mass will be celebrated in the church of St Francis de Sales, Clyde Street, Island Bay, on Thursday 4th December at 11.00am, followed by burial at Makara Cemetery. Vigil prayers will be held in the above church on Wednesday 3rd December at 6.00pm.

I taught Pepe at Newtown School and later at SWIS. I have just learned of his passing and am sorry not to have been able to attend his funeral. He was always a friendly cheerful boy who enjoyed a little mischief. I have often thought of him and wondered how he was. My condolences to his family.
