During my two visits to New Zealand, I had the good fortune to meet Trevor and get to know him a little. From the very first moment we met, he treated me with the utmost kindness, appreciation and courtesy. This attitude remained unchanged until the very end in all the conversations I had with him via ZOOM from Germany.
No matter how shaky and fragile his physical condition was, he always took a friendly interest in his conversation partner and showed sincere concern for what they had to say.
I remember Trevor's politeness, love, consideration and helpfulness towards his wife Joe. During my visits to the two of them, I saw how they both outdid each other in making life a little easier for the other, even though they were both already frail.
Trevor showed me photos of his children, which he had kept in his wallet until old age.
I was particularly impressed by Trevor's exemplary attitude of accepting the circumstances of his life without complaining or lamenting. Even when the circumstances were not easy or pleasant, Trevor remained friendly, people-oriented and benevolent.
The One who was important to Trevor throughout his life and whom he followed was reflected not only in his table prayers, but also in many other ways.
I am grateful to have met Trevor.
