Such wonderful memories of Ian, Pauline, Aaron and Hayley at the Bach. Our boys thoroughly enjoyed those years of such fun, motorbikes, fishing, diving and the awesome flying fox. Never a dull moment xx

Pauline, Aaron and Hayley. I was so sorry to hear that Ian passed away.
I saw him about a year ago at dad's bach, he was chatting away for about half an hour before working out who I was I can't blame him, it had been 20+ years.
I have a lot of memories of him and you all around the coast and flounder fishing at Petone and seeing the ambulance coming around Red Rocks corner knowing it couldn't possibly be anyone else, how that got all the way around to Karori Stream I have no idea! He was truly one of a kind and unapologetically himself. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Ian passed away peacefully on 9 September 2025 at Mary Potter Hospice, Newtown, after a short illness, aged 70. Dearly loved son of the late Derrick and Jean, and much loved eldest brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many. Special thanks to the staff at Mary Potter Hospice for their care of Ian.
Forever in our hearts.
