Janet BUGDEN Obituary

Of Paraparaumu Beach, formerly of Pukerua Bay. Peacefully at home after a short illness, on Tuesday, 14 January 2025. Aged 85 years. Dearly loved wife of 60 years to David. Loved mother of Sarah and Clare. Adored Grandma of Emily. A celebration of Janet's life will be held at the Kapiti Coast Funeral Home Chapel, 9-11 Hinemoa Street, Paraparaumu on Wednesday, 22 January 2025, at 2.00pm, to be followed by private cremation. Messages can be placed on www.tributes.co.nz. Heartfelt thanks to the Wellington Free Ambulance and Mary Potter Hospice for their love and care of Janet.

Janet and myself go back to the '60s. We both caught the train Pukerua to Wgtn, worked at Health Dept, had our first child the same time, and both ended up 'holding office' for PKB Plunket. A major project was relocation of the rooms from SH1: Janet did all the work - lots - while I merely presided. And later Sarah became our neighbour, and we walked home together from the train.
Janet was a very competent and kindly person, thoughtful and first to put her hand up to help out.
Our condolences go to Dave, Sarah and Claire on your loss.
