Died peacefully on Sunday 23 November 2025 under the watchful eyes and loving care of her husband, mother, and the Kena Kena Rest Home staff. Jennifer battled the impacts of a brain tumour, the necessary aggressive treatments, a brain injury, and multiple strokes in the last seven years. She's a hero in the eyes of all who knew her. Never complaining, never feeling sorry for herself. Jenny was a primary school teacher for 10 years at St Mark's School, Wellington, and an event organiser for Waymark Solutions. She was the special daughter of Pat and Tom Gilchrist and the caring, organised, and immaculate wife of David Parmenter. She supported her two stepdaughters, Claudine and Alexandra, whenever they needed help, guidance, and sound advice. There will be a celebration of a good life, albeit one cut too short on Saturday 13 December at St Andrews Church, 11 Steyne Avenue, Plimmerton, at 11.00am. The timing allows live-viewing in the UK. There will be a lunch in the church hall afterwards. Please e-mail
[email protected] if you are able to attend so we can get the catering numbers right. To honour Jenny's immaculate and colourful dress sense, please wear bright colours.
