We remember John well from our years in Paraparaumu in the 1970's and 80's. Our children were frequent visitors to his home when Dawn taught (tried to) them piano. We remember John as a personable, friendly and amiable gentleman. Our condolences to Dawn and family.

We are truly sorry for your loss of a lifelong husband and father. The John we remember from the time we met him in the1970's was the man with the twinkling eyes, the quirky smile, the way he loved to pull you into a well told story which often had a Pakistani accent to it. He was a knowledgeable man, who knew Paraparaumu well . He loved his family totally and was so proud of his children. He was a gentle man, not a pushover but a man of strength and impeccable manners. He was always interested in all he met. I could of mentioned the Shop in MacLean St, his sporting prowess, the Real Estate but there isn't room to write a book. At the same time, later in his life he was broken by the deaths of his two precious daughters but supported to cope with these life changing moments by Dawn, Simon, Siobhan, Tom and Glen and those precious Grandchildren. Our thoughts are with you all
