Peacefully, surrounded by her family, on 5 January 2026, aged 89 years. Very special wife of the late Don for 62 years. Dearly loved mum of Sharyn and David, Sandra and David, and loved grandmother of Nicholas, Daniel, Cameron, Sarah, Kate and their partners. A special thanks to the team at Malvina Major Retirement Village for their loving care and support. A funeral to celebrate Joy's life will be held at 10.30am, on Friday, 9 January, at Lychgate Funerals, 7 Johnsonville Road, Johnsonville, followed by a private cremation. Sincere sympathy to the Johnston family on the passing of Joy. Along with Don they were a big part of our little cul de sac Runanga Grove, Waikanae.

Joy had great love for Don & her family, was meticulous for things to be done right. We missed her when she went to Rymans. A gracious lady now at rest
