Kevin LEIGHTON Obituary

Unexpectedly at home on 18 April 2025. Life partner of Karen and loving father of Jessica & Richard, and Maddie & Chris. Loved son of Shirley and the late David Leighton. Loved brother of Sharyn and Leanne, and brother-in-law of Slim and David & Kath Mooney. Special thanks to Vanessa, Wellington Free Ambulance and the Carterton Volunteer Fire Brigade. A service for Kevin will be held in Richmond Funeral Home Chapel, Richmond Road, Carterton, on Thursday, 24 April, at 10.30am, followed by private interment at Clareville Cemetery.

I´m really sad to hear of Kevin´s sudden passing. I met Kevin through my neighbor Chris Loader when I was about 13. We got on well and had heaps of good times together. I´ll never forget his amazing skills on a bike! He could wheel stand the length of Solway Street turn around and come back again! I was so jealous! At that time Kevin got to meet Karen who was part of my bunch of friends. They got on really well and the rest is history. Growing up with Kevin and Karen as friends was indeed a fun and happy time in my life.
I won´t able to attend the funeral so my heartfelt condolences go to you Karen and family.

Very sad to hear of Kev´s passing, he was one of my 1st friends at Makoura college when we were 16 year olds and we always hung out together. condolences to Karen and the girls, his mum Shirley ,sister Sharyn and families. kindest regards Mark Jones (Greymouth).
