Father Kevin John PURCELL

Kevin PURCELL Obituary

Retired priest of the archdiocese of Wellington. Passed away peacefully on Saturday 21 December 2024 at Bupa Whitby. Loved son of the late Jack and Agnes, brother of Patricia (deceased). Brother and brother-in-law of Bernie and Anne, sadly missed by his nieces and nephews.

Great adventurous life. RIP.

Rosary will be recited at 7.00pm on Thursday 26 December 2024 at Our Lady of Kapiti Catholic Church, 1 Presentation Way, Paraparaumu. Requiem Mass will be celebrated at the same location at 10.00am on Friday 27 December 2024, followed by internment at Awa Tapu Cemetery, Paraparaumu. A livestream link for the Requiem Mass will be available on Fr. Kevin's tribute page for those unable to attend.

I am sorry to learn of Kevin's death and my condolences to the family. The fun we all had as teenagers in Kapiti in the 60's, Rick and Kevin living life to the full and experiencing many adventures together. Catholic youth group gatherings, shooting, dances and movies. There was always great hospitality to be had at the Purcell family home. Lovely memories. Helen Goodman

Many years ago my late husband and I did a orientation course with Kevin. It was before we went to Papua New Guinea with COVS in 1984.
My condolences to all his family.
