Luke CRAWFORD Obituary

Passed away suddenly on Friday, 13 December 2024, at his family home. Loved and loving husband of Stephanie, adoring father and father-in-law to Hutana, Abi and Lachie. Son of Newton Henry Crawford and Bernadette Rewarewa (nee Mariu) and beloved brother of Aaron, Mark (dec), Kathleen, Hiriweteri, Tania, Terry, Hutana and Kim. Cherished brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, friend, and mentor to many. Luke dedicated his life to serving his people. Messages to the Crawford family may be left in Luke's tribute book at www.tributes.co.nz. A service for Luke will be held at Takapūwāhia marae on Thursday, 19 December, at 11.00am, followed by private cremation.

It was a pleasure to work with Luke at Stats NZ. He knew so many people. Wherever we travelled together he would meet people he knew. He was always happy to chat. I loved hearing his stories of his own history. He was also a great raconteur of purakau. Fascinating stories.
He was so proud of his whanau.
