Marilyn DAVIES Obituary

Passed away peacefully on 22 September 2025 in Wellington, aged 81. Beloved wife of the late Harry Lavington. Dearly loved mother of Stephanie and Felicity Russell. Dearly loved sister of Teresa. Teresa and Marilyn's Family
I was so sorry to hear Marilyn has passed away. Please accept my sympathy. I always enjoyed Marilyn's company, her ready smile, and her quick quips. We worked closely together several years ago in the early 2000s when I was Chair of the Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics Quality (ITPQ) Board, and Marilyn was Deputy Chair. Her advice was invariably wise, principled and fair, and she was consistently constructive and supportive. The last time I met her she was walking with you, Teresa, up near Te Ahumairangi hill. The stories she related about her family were warm and entertaining. She will be missed.
