I have just learnt of the passing of Max. He employed me a Waikato Regional Manager for Skill NZ and without reservation he was one of the best managers I every worked with. I enjoyed his intellect, vision and dry humour. He was a very ethical person and one in whom I had great trust. Thank you Max for the confidence and leadership you gave me. Rest in peace. Edgar

Thank you for a wonderful obituary for Max. It brought back so many memories of a lovely work colleague from Treasury and DoL days, more than 40 years ago. You missed off that amazing smile, slowly spreading across his lips. Thanks, Max, for your help in my past, and my very sincere condolences to your wider family and friends.
