Mike was my Unit Manager at Rimutaka Prison back in the early nineties.
He was a helluva nice guy and a damn good boss.
He had the utmost respect from the staff below him and above him in rank.
I never once heard Mike say a bad word about anyone.
There were times, however, if we were talking about some dubious person he would just roll his eyes about their behaviour and have a bit of a chuckle.
I knew what he was thinking and would smile back at him.
Mike was very fair and never took sides with anyone.
He listened to the facts of the matter and gave his professional opinion to the parties concerned.
Mike was very much a Professional in all aspects of the word
I missed Mike a lot when he resigned from Rimutaka.
We used to.have the odd laugh about something in his Unit Managers office or the guardroom.
Mike Brady was a real gentleman and a good friend to have, especially in the prison environment
My condolences go out to Mike´s family and friends., especially Andy Wardle who knew Mike for a very long time

43 Years we have known each other. We had a lot of laughs during that time and when I look back at it, we actually never had an argument or disagreement other than you supporting Arsenal. That is rare that a friendship can last like that. I will miss you immensely for your friendship and advice when I sought it. Rest in peace mate.
