I was sorry to lose you as a neighbour Mike. We had some good conversations over the years. I will miss your music and your presence. RIP my friend.

My uncle Mike savored life. He dove into and soaked up every tiny detail of wonder in the world (from sheep dogs, butterflies, and trains to video screens & sound equipment) - how fabulous that he enjoyed his life so much. What a great lesson to those of us left behind.
I've known few people in my life with the brain power he possessed and wish he were still here to send me emails, commenting on the "completely irrational U.S. government". He got it! He got so much! He was one of a kind!

Mike
Reeves was a good brother. He relished life. He loved chocolate covered cherries, lemon meringue pie, Campbell's chunky chowder and the bird who came to his kitchen the last few years. All of our early life, I had a balcony view to his many capers. His love for music was unmatched. He taught me so much--especially about current affairs. He was sickened by what is happening to our country. I think he has read just about every book in the library. He was so thankful for his eyes and for any kindness folks bestowed upon him. Truly, I miss him so much.

Despite having lived in New Zealand since the '60s my uncle remained steadfastly American, never slipping into a pretend kiwi accent and rightly maintaining a disdain for the lack of granularity in the Celsius thermostat and poor NZ insulation standards that insure the populace is cold most of the time. He was a joyful killer of opposums and lover of dogs. He loved sound in all it's manifestations from the symphony to the biggest firecrackers.

I´ll be happy to remember Mike as an intrinsic part of our `hood. I did not know him so well or so long; that is my misfortune. I do know Mike as a man who lived life on his own terms. He was an active man who always seemed bemused when our dog sat on his foot. - A sign of an acceptable human -- Bunt, Egg, and the BASH

Mike & I met just a few days after he arrived in New Zealand and have remained the closest of friends ever since. We shared many good times together and have been in constant communication throughout the years.
Michael was the kindest, most gracious, most intelligent person I have ever known. He was dearly loved by all who knew him and will be missed beyond measure.
Mike, you were always there for me no matter what, who will I share all my crazy adventures with now! I will miss you forever my friend.
My deepest condolences to his family and friends, and all who knew and loved him.

A good friend for more than two-thirds of my lifetime. We had so many interests in common, and I no longer have someone to share these with. Memories will now have to suffice, and there are many great ones.
