Michael Phillip "Tomo" THOMASON

Michael THOMASON Obituary

We have run our last race, completed our last adventure. Last week, we lost our lovely Tomo, exceptional and brave, better half and soulmate for 33 years of Evelyn. We made the best memories together, we have been a team. Everything we have done and experienced was because our team was strong. You are such a generous, intelligent and loyal soul…and irreplaceable, the pain is unbearable. We are going to have to work out how to live in a world without Tomo. This was just not part of the plan, it's surreal. We are so grateful to the Malaghan Institute and CAR-T trial staff at Wellington Hospital, Canopy Cancer, Auckland Hospital Haematology unit, notably Peter 'Prof' Browett, all of whom gave us the best possible care and opportunities. We are grateful for the support & care afforded by Waikato & Auckland District nurses & FENZ, Tomo's colleagues who checked in, turned up and who he respected. Tomo loved every day of his job as a career firefighter for 30 years, he loved his colleagues, he loved helping people, the world is now poorer. My lovely, you left us all better than you found us. If donating is possible, we both feel the Malaghan Institute is a worthy cause and would appreciate any donations to them.

"I've got your six, over & out, Tomo actual".
All my love, Eve xx

Tomo! The ultimate giver. I remember him loving to drive my big Ford F250 here in the U.S. I remember him wanting for me out on the Queen K during an Ironman on his way to the airport just to give me that last cheer! I remember him fixing things on our farm and cleaning our old garage. He was so special and king. Our entire family will always have him in our hearts. We love you Tomo
