Monica SAUNDERS Obituary

On March 7, 2026 peacefully at Bob Scott Retirement Village, Petone, aged 87 years. Dearly loved wife of Peter. Much loved mother and mother-in-law of Brett and Kate, Anna and Geoff. Loved Gar of Connor, & Jenson. Special thanks to the staff at Bob Scott for their loving care shown to both Monica and Peter. A funeral service for Monica will be held in Cornwall Manor, corner Knights Road and Cornwall Street, Lower Hutt, on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 10.30am, thereafter private cremation at Akatarawa.

I first met Monica in the 1960s when we both worked at The Union Steam Ship Company in Wellington . We enjoyed many many happy times there We kept in touch at Union Co reunions and often I would run into Monica and Peter at the Trentham Races . Monica always looking fabulous. She was a really lovely lady. My condolences to her family . May she Rest in Peace .
