Dear Aunty Myra, during my time in Palmerston North, I formed a close bond with Aunty. She was always so welcoming of my visits, in some ways she was like a second mum to me. We chatted a lot about past memories, and she told me a few stories that actually surprised me, but made me laugh as well.
One wee story she told me was when she was little, she caught mum (Eddie) smoking out in the shed/ barn and immediately said " I'm telling on you, you'll be in big trouble ".
Aunty ran into the kitchen shouting to Nana that Eddie was smoking. Nanas response was " don't be silly Myra, Eddie wouldn't do a thing like that! No matter what Myra said, Nana wasn't believing her. She was told off for making up stories and sent back outside to play. Apparently Mum / Eddie did that on a regular basis without getting caught, which stunned me because she had always told me she'd never touched a cigarette in her life! Aunty Myra and I had a good laugh about that, along with many other stories. Aunty Myra was a very kind, sweet special lady who was much loved.
Back in the arms of Uncle Kelvin , together again in peace and love.
Thinking of you all, Robyn, Vicki, Dale and Steven and families. Be kind to yourselves, love, Colleen

I remember Mrs Judd from my time as a "lollie boy" at the Regent Theatre in Palmerston North where she also worked. So nice and kind. What a lovely long life.
