KASHUBA, Pauline
(nee Klatchuk)
November 7, 1929 – June 24, 2017
Another loving and considerate soul finds her way to heaven as Pauline finished her fulfilling life here of 87 and one half years. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister, cousin and great friend to all, Pauline was born to this world in the Lamont Hospital. Her family farmed and worked in the Chipman and Glendon areas, and then Pauline found Edmonton, soon meeting the man she would call her husband for 67 years, Gerald Kashuba. They married, raised a daughter and a son, and then were blessed as grandparents and then great-grandparents. Pauline devoted her life to helping others, be it through parenting, babysitting, baking, St. Basil's UCWLC, selling Avon, or just mending personal fences with her unfailing toolkit of willing heart, attentive ears, soothing words and the light touch of her never idle hands. Though outwardly gentle, Pauline's shining spirit was driven by thorny farm girl tenacity sown in prairie clay smoothly tempered with unconditional love and faith.
Pauline will eternally endure in the hearts of her husband Gerald; her daughter, Elaine Osoba and family; her son, Don and family; her two granddaughters, Lisa Osoba and family including great-grandchildren, Ella and Charlie, Tessa Kashuba and family including great-granddaughter, Dallas; brother, Ed Klatchuk and family; nieces, nephews, cousins and her very close cousin, Sophie Pawliuk and many, many friends. Pauline was predeceased by her parents, Gabyn and Annie Klatchuk; and her brother, Sandy.
She wished only a Celebration of Life which will take place Friday, July 7 at 11:00 a.m. at the Park Memorial Reception Centre, 11015 -101 Street, Edmonton.
The family wishes to thank the efforts and compassion of the University of Alberta Hospital Glomerulonephrology Clinic, the Norwood Rehab Facility, and of course, the entire nursing and physician staff of Unit 7 West of the Misericordia Community Hospital. Pauline desired that charity starts with family and home, but with a little something left over, please devote it to the charity of your choice. God Bless!
