I first met Peter about 10 years ago when he was introduced to us by Janet. Janet, like me, is a keen sailor and after the racing on Wellington Harbour, Peter often joined us on board for the obligatory after-race drinks. He quietly observed the after race analysis and enjoyed the exciting and lively atmosphere. Peter was not a sailor, but he took joy in the fact that Janet was obviously in her element. Peter was a kind man and always interested in what you had to say. He departed this world all too early.

Good memories of our time as flatmates in the 1960's, and catching up at reunions. Peter was a real gentleman, 'straight up' and someone we all looked up to. My condolences to Janet and the family.

Peter and I were flatmates in the late 1960's and we enjoyed a wonderful friendship ever since. He was a gentle man and a true gentleman. Fond memories that will last forever. Sincere condolences to Janet and the family.

Peter and I met at the NZ Army base in Linton, in January 1968 (I think), as part of a small group of National Military Service draftees who'd had their core training deferred from the previous year on account of study commitments. It was a time of great camaraderie, with hard work in the blazing sun during the weekdays, but most nights off to have fun in Palmy, and at the local races etc. Peter was always a starter, but behaved well, and was a good friend to everyone. My sincere condolences to all his family. Graeme Kirkcaldie
