I thank Bob for his pioneering spirit and help he has given Christiania Ski Club over many years. I think he helped build it/ do the electrical work?? Anyhow he was a lovely man, a font of knowledge and just a really good bloke. Our thoughts are with Mrs Buckley and Ella and family. Love from Mary, Penny and Daisy.

For the Clements family, Bob was a larger than life centrepiece of Christie ski club. His stories were legend. No matter you'd heard one before, you learnt something new the next iteration. That they were all true spoke of the incredible life that he lived. A wonderful man, an inspiration, a true legend. A mighty Totara has fallen in the forest! Our love to all the family.

When I first met you Bob I was hooked and happy to listen to you for hours - which was lucky, as you liked to tell a tall tale or two. How you built CSC, worked on huts in the Antarctic and how on the second time of trying, were inaugurated into the original Christiania Club in Norway. Your picture will finally, be displayed Bob. A great legacy for all the family who I know will miss you greatly. X

Bob has held a very special place in our hearts and NZ home since first we were neighbours almost 15 years ago.
A dear friend whose care for others, humorous stories, life experience, energy and passion for everything he did captures the best of his generation and NZ.
Bob has given our children, husband and I so many wonderful memories and we will continue to share them here in Canada with much affection for the lovely Kiwi man he truly was.
Bob will be greatly missed by so many and I expect all of the Wairarapa will never be the same without his constant presence on the land and in the sea.
Much love and our sincerest condolences to Diane, Ella and the Buckley family - you are all in our thoughts at this time. xoxo

I first met Bob through Church when I came to live in the Wairarapa 6 years ago. Bob was always very cheerful and generous sharing his crayfish. May he rest in peace. May his family before comforted knowing that Bob is now at peace.
