I had lost track of Bob from my Olathe, KS days. I worked with the Olathe Chamber of Commerce then and was thrilled to see Bob repurpose an industrial printing building into a state of the art furniture warehouse. We worked together to make that happen and later worked together on the County Economic Research Institute Board finding ways to attract new industry to our area with statistics which Bob loved to quote. And when I was between jobs, Bob gave me an office at his store to work out of until I found another opportunity. I will never forget Bob nor his family who always treated me like family.
And don’t forget, of all the innovations he brought to retailing, I’ll never forget the snack bar and playground inside the store for us hungry families with young children. We will miss you Bob!
