Roderick Tomas (Roddy):
QSM, Paul Harris Fellow
On 12 February 2021 peacefully at home, Glen Orrin, Kopuaranga, aged 84. Much loved husband of Jan. Dearly loved father and father-in-law of Jo and Don Murray (Waitahuna), Dave and Jo (Montrose). Loved Roddy of Jack and Hannah; Gus, Honor, and Molly. Loved companion of Millie. Loved brother of the late Ross, and Shona. Loved brother-in-law of Grant and Sue. Loved by his nieces and nephews.
"Gone Farming"
A service to celebrate Roddy's life will be held at Llandaff, 183 Upper Plain Road, Masterton, on Thursday 18th February at 2.00pm, followed by private cremation.

Dear Jan and family, I was deeply saddened to hear of Roddy's passing earlier this week. I have fond memories of his phone calls and the occasions I got to meet him in person. His passion and warmth always shone through in any discussion. His willingness to be an interview subject gave me a beautiful piece to write and it was a privilege. I desperately wanted to come to the funeral but unfortunately I had an important business meeting in Wellington which could not be rescheduled. Thoughts and sympathy to all of the family at this time. Never a dull moment when Roddy was around. Great entertainment on Many a Southdown tour and the Southdown world has lost another good breeder - always sound advice.
Great send off for Roddy today and great stories told.
