On Sunday, 28 August 2016, in Tauranga. Loved husband of the late Vera. Father of Karen, Gwynda, and Nicola. Loved grandfather of Tania, Andrea, Stuart, James (deceased), Alishia, and Lenny, and great grandfather, of Connor, Hamish, Lochlan, Tylar, James, Mytraya, Bailey, and great great grandfather of Athena. Son of the late Arthur Thomas and Gwendoline Alexdrina Shields (nee Ramsbottom - Isherwood). A service celebrating Ron's life will be held at Pukehina Firestation, 14 Pukehina Parade Pukehina, on Thursday, 1 September at 11am, followed by private burial. In lieu of flowers donations to Westpac Rescue Helicopter PO Box 14077 Tauranga 3143 would be appreciated and may be left at the venue. Messages to the Shields family C/- PO Box 650 Tauranga 3140.
