Tim and I attended primary and intermediate school together (Cashmere and Raroa). Tim and I became friends. We played at each others houses and would see each other on holiday, especially in Wanaka when Tim and his family came down skiing. I have fond memories of Tim in those days sitting upright and stoked in the maroon Range Rover rego NM40. I attended Tim's funeral and enjoyed hearing more about his later years, most of which I missed as I moved to the South Island early in high school. Seeing those pictures of Tim brought back a lot of memories. Those big brown eyes especially. They would lock on to you and tell you immediately how he felt. He was such a thoughtful, intelligent and caring person. The "outside" was just a facade really. I am so sorry to you all. His family were his biggest heroes. I am so grateful for having the opportunity to be friends with Tim as a kid. No one was friends with Tim out of sympathy. He was sought out, like the sun. A mighty bloke has fallen.

Tim was in my class every single year of primary school and intermediate. Mum says kindergarten too. We didn't see each other as much in high school as we found different friends. He was part of my school family and we took care of each other. Then I moved away and only saw him a few times after that. I wish I'd found a better way to keep in touch.
Timmy I'm sorry I disappeared out of your life and I look forward to another happy chat next time our paths cross.

I am incredibly saddened to hear the tragic news of dear Timmy´s passing.
I first met Tim almost 15 years ago shopping at New World & then would sometimes see him on the odd night out in town. Timmy would always make an effort to have a conversation & could cheer anyone up with total ease. He was a genuine warm & loving soul, who made time for everyone. He was always so kind & generous with his loving energy.
He will be so sorely missed.
Fly free beautiful Timmy,
Love Nina xxx

I think I first babysat Timmy (and the three others) when he was just a few weeks old. I remember him being all wrapped up and so tiny in his cot. He grew into such a sweet boy and such a twinkly young man and he was such a credit to you all and to himself. I know how much he was loved and I am so sorry he is gone. And I am very sad that I can´t be at the funeral - but I´m presently in Uzbekistan(!) Much love, Rebecca E xxx

What a warm memory I have of Tim dating back to Tim's time in Robyn Green's class at Cashmore Ave School where I was the afternoon teacher. Tim was a " great little guy" in a class of delightful children. To Lesley & Michael, what wonderful parents you were; your love & support were invaluable in those early years.
On reading these messages of condolence, I am sure that meeting Tim in his adult years would continued to be a pleasure!
Kind regards

Sad to hear of Tim passing and sending love to his family. Tim and I were at Intermediate together and it was lovely years later seeing him at New World and around Wellington on the occasion for a chat. Will miss his cheeky grin. x

I will always remember Tim. He had huge bundles of energy and was a pleasure to be around. Whether he was in the Special Olympics offices, playing basketball or working in New World he was a delight.
Thinking of all his friends and family. What a huge loss.

My condolences to Lesley, Michael, Antonia, Foss and Hugo. Tim had a vibrancy and zest for life that is irreplaceable. Always smiling, always pleased to see us when he came to our office to work. Always keen to chat but respected that he had an important contribution to make and got on with his job. I will remember him for his love of life and of his family, friends and community. I'm very sorry for your loss.

We are so very sorry to hear about Tim. We will remember fondly his tenacity at basketball and his smiling face at New World. We would often stop to have a quick chat before he would say he had to get back to work. Our thoughts and aroha are with the family at this sad time.
