Toarangatira POMARE Obituary

Passed away peacefully at his home, aged 73. Youngest son of the late Te Rakaherea & Madge (nee Ormond) Pomare. Brother to Maui (dec), Eru (dec), Naera, Miria, and Te Rakaherea (Bill). Much loved husband of Catherine Anne and devoted father of Ani Smart and Hamuera (Sam). Beloved father-in-law to Peter & Gretchen. Adored and cherished Koro of Jorja, Stella, McCullum, William, Penelope, & Anna. A loyal and loved friend to many. A tangi will be held at Hongoeka Marae, Plimmerton, from 11.00am Sunday 23rd November until Tuesday 25th November, with a service to be held at Old St Paul's, Mulgrave Street, Thorndon on Wednesday 26th November at 2.30pm.

A wonderful man who cared deeply for family and freinds. We met London in the early 70 s and have firm freinds since. A talented sportsman both rugby and cricket who we treasured as a team mate and wonderful raconteur. All the Black Diamonds and Failure Trail members from 1976 will always remember Toa with great fondness and i m sure we will always remember him with a smile on our faces. FEED THE BACKS !!
