My condolences to Winstone´s family..
I have known Winstone for over 50 years due to us both working together at AMP Insurance. It was myself who recruited Winstone to join AMP in about 1970 as a Sales Representative and I will write a little more about that. Winstone stayed in that role for probably close to 50 years, and that was longer than my own 42 years at AMP.
Initially from starting at AMP about 1970 he worked mainly around the Wellington eastern Suburbs which was an area he knew very well. Later on his customers were within the whole of Wellington and beyond.
In his early years I spent a lot of time training and developing Winstone´s skills as a Sales Representative of AMP and got to know him very well. He most certainly was a person who became a very dedicated Rep for his customers and almost without exception provided them with great service. The then long standing AMP motto "A sure friend in uncertain times" was definitely one taken onboard with his customers. Without a doubt I know that his customers had a very high opinion of Winstone.
I would love to be able attend the service on Tuesday, but living north of Wellington and the greatly increased traffic flow that day due to the hikoi will make that difficult. So it will probably be watching your live stream.

Dear Jocelyn, Deborah, Tracey and all the extended family,
Art and I are so very sorry to learn of Uncle of Uncle Winston's passing. I am so glad that I managed a catch up with him in May when I was in Wellington and we had a lovely lunch at the garden center. His "joie de vivre" was apparent and I know you are all going to miss him dreadfully. We will be keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in Peace - Uncle Winston.
