BIRD, Christopher Michael. September 29, 1950- October 6, 2015. After an interesting arm wrestle with cancer he stopped flapping his wings. Loved Dad of James and Katie. Grandfather of Michael and Jessica, Paige and Henry. Treasured big brother of Philippa, Dave (dec), Susan, Tim and Kate. Grateful thanks for the wonderful care given to Chris by the staff of the Horowhenua Masonic Village, Levin and special thanks to Jodi. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated to send "this enigma of many lives," on his final journey, at St Mary's Catholic Church, Convent Road, Otaki on Monday 12 October at 11am followed by interment at Rangiatea Cemetery just to make sure the "Birdman" has finally stopped "flapping his wings."
