Farewell my friend.
Claude and Tony Smith when Cameron House was the best restaurant in Whanganui came to me asking if we could grow fancy red lettuce. This started a fabulous friendship with Claude. I would grow fancy lettuce which were not common in those days to their requirements in exchange for a yummy meal at Cameron House.
I would on occasion meet Claude in Mitre 10 wandering around between the shelves and we would have a catch up.
My sincere condolences to Trish and family.
Sorry I was not able to be there.

Sincere Sympathy to you Patricia, and all of your family.
Claude was the most amazing chef when I first got to know him over 50 years ago..he changed ordinary food to the next level.especially with his sauces..

Since I was a child, I've always been so proud of having a part of my family so far away from France, thanks to Claude. He was the one who gave me inspiration for travelling and discovering the world. Rest in Peace, my uncle.
