My deepest condolences to the Wakeling family. I grew up swimming with Dave's sons Kevin and Russell under his tutelage. He was a very generous man, fantastic swimming coach and mentor to myself and many others through our formative years in Wanganui.
RIP Dave

Sending my condolences to Rae and family. Dave will forever be in our memories, me from a young age and then my daughter Sarya through swimming. Not only was Dave a coach but a mentor also. Was good to see him and be able to work with him this past year, but sad I missed his final months. Much love to you all x

Condolences to your family. My Mum (Audrey who we also lost this year) taught swimming with Dave. Between them they must have taught 1000s of children. A legacy to be proud of.
I remember Dave being such a happy, beautiful and gentle man. He always had a minute to catch up if her saw us on the street. I am sure he will be missed terribly. Rest in peace Dave.
