I remember a man who always had a smile, he always acknowledged you with a smile and a hello.
The last time our whanau were all home together we decided to go and say hello to both Uncle Don and Aunty Melva we all walked in the house down the passage to the warm kitchen around the table gave them both a kiss and a hug they gave us a big smile and we all walked out.
He was such a humble man and we will miss him.
All our love to you all.

Please accept my deepest sympathy in Don's passing. I remember Don from when I was a kid on the farm at Gowanlea, wallpapering and painting the 13ft stud walls, none of which were square! I also caught up with Don at Seniors Club Conferences a few times.
