Daisy and family
We were neighbors of the Cameron family when they had the Hurst farm at Okoia and we were at Blink-bonnie then when we moved to Waiouru we also saw a lot of Vaughan when he came to watch Stephen, who was stationed at Waiouru then , play his rugby for the Ohakune Karioi club.
There was never a game of rugby club or Rep that Vaughan didn't attend and he was very knowledgeable on rugby especially at what level Stephen was capable of playing at . Other times Vaughan and the late Alex Penn and myself would go out to sea fishing, that was before GPS and Vaughan would line up the water tower with a tree on hill somewhere for us to find a good fishing spot and we always got some fish. Vaughan could spin a good yarn
Would always include his beloved Parihauhau and a pig hunt and a muster with his favorite hunterway dog
My mother in law Lucy Morton was great friends with Vaughan's Grand Mother Mrs Hurst so the connection goes bach some generations.
I would like to pass on my condolences to the Cameron family on the passing of a friend and very special man
